The Case:
The case used on this Luminox Pacific Diver XS.3122 is made from high-grade 316L stainless steel. This grade is also known as marine grade stainless steel which is a perfect fit for this timepiece. It is used on the side of the case, back and on the crown for ultimate quality and protection. The case back features Luminox's motto 'every second counts' alongside the words 'since 1989' encased inside a star. The back features a screw in design similar to the crown which gives it a water resistance rating of 200 metres. This allows the watch to be submerged to depths reached when diving. Moreover, to dive it is important that you have a timer so you can see how long you have been exploring the ocean. The black bezel displays in increments of five and is uni-directional meaning it is highly unlikely to be knocked out of place. The glass is slightly lower than the case which will provide it with protection against knocks. Furthermore, the glass has an anti-reflective coating to prevent glare from the sun or a torch at the bottom of the sea.
The Bracelet:
Again, the bracelet is made from the same grade of stainless steel as the case. It features an oyster design which is based off the original Rolex oyster where three chains interlink to make once. This allows the watch to easily mould to your wrist. The bracelet can be fastened using a fold over clasp to sit comfortably around your wrist.
The Dial & Functions:
The dial has a simplistic black background whilst being complemented by white indexes and hands. The ever-present Luminox logo can be seen positioned just underneath the 12 o'clock index alongside a date window replacing the 3 o'clock index. All Luminox watches feature a self-powered illumination system employing tiny micro gas light sources. This unique Swiss technology guarantees unsurpassed ability to read the time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for up to 25 years. Each watch has micro gas lights mounted on the hands, dial and, when necessary, also on the bezel.
