Charity and luxury watches don’t go together very often and they never do in such a spectacular way than at the famous Only Watch auction.
The auction, the charity and the watches
There are several things that make this auction quite special, even compared to other big events of the watch and auction landscape: First, Only Watch is held only once every two years so the chances to witness and participate are very slim.
Second, the whole event and its proceeds are for a good cause. Organized by the Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and supported by Prince Albert II of Monaco, the auction raises money for research on the disease. Since all the watches are donated by the brands, 99% of the money goes into the supported scientific and medical programs.
Third and most interestingly, all watches auctioned are unique pieces especially created for this auction. Among the impressive selection you will find pieces from legendary brands such as Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Breguet, as well as watches from small, exclusive manufacturers like F.P. Journe, Ressence and MB&F.
